Ontañon Vetiver Crianza made exclusively from the Viura strain, the native grapes for Rioja, known in other parts of Spain as Macabeo. The wine was aged for half a year in American oak barrels. Viura is one of the three white varieties permitted for use in the region by DOC. Rioja. This strain is grown in the famous Spanish region of Rioja, and to a lesser extent in the other regions of Spain and southern France. The best results are as young wine, very crisp, with moderate acidity. It is also suitable for aging in oak barrels as in the case of Vetiver. In order to obtain a very good wine from the fermentation of Viura grapes, an optimal vintage moment and the exact work of the oenologist are required.
Wine with bright, straw color with metallic lumens. Fresh wine with a perfect combination of grapefruit and pear aromas, with a hint of vanilla. A long, slightly bitter finish. Recommended for fish, seafood, white meat and rice dishes.
