The region of Tejo, formerly known as Ribatejo, takes its name from the river that has shaped the landscape, climate and economy of the area for centuries. The terroir in Tejo has an expressive character, which makes the plains and the area around the river ideal for growing native Portuguese grapes.
The wine is produced by a family business founded in the 1980s by Jose Candido, which is now managed by Mariana and Rui Candido. Their main assumption and goal is to produce the highest quality wines in harmony with the nature and tradition of the region. The Quinta da Ribeirinha estate is located in Póvoa de Santarém and produces white, red, rose, sparkling wines, olive oil and jams.
