The wine is produced in 80% from the Merlot grape and in 20% from Cabernet Franc, coming from a small, only 2 ha, prestigious estate in Pomerol. Only 70% of this wine was aged in French oak barrels - half of the new ones.
Pomerol does not have a formal wine classification system as it does in Médoc, Graves, Sauternes or Saint-Émilion. Although this appellation was barely recognized in the middle of the last century, it achieved its current glory in a relatively short time, thanks to wines such as Chateau Petrus and Chateau Le Pin. The prestigious place of Pomerol in the international wine world has been unchallenged for a long time, taking into account the constant increase in demand for prestigious wines and the limited production of this small, quality-oriented appellation.
