Chateau Malmaison vineyard is located in Moulis in one of the oldest areas of the Medoc. This property is adjacent to Chateau Clarke, which was also purchased by Baron Edmund de Rothschild in 1973. At the time of purchase, Chateau Malmaison was in a state of complete neglect, but has been restored to its former glory. The vineyards were replanted between 1974 and 1978 and now cover up to 24 hectares and are well kept.

The calcareous and clay soils on which the grapevines grow are perfect for the cultivation of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. During each grape harvest, the grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted before the vinification process. The wine is aged for 14 to 18 months in oak barrels.
