Prova Cega Reserva Tinto is a Portuguese wine from the Douro Valley. It was created from the strains Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz. Aged wine for 9 months in French oak barrels. It has a rich and complex aroma, mainly of red fruit, with the addition of smoky and vanilla notes derived from aging in oak. The wine is well structured, complex with long soft tannins of intense red color with purple reflections. Dishes rich in red meat go very well with this wine. Perfect for small game, smoked meats, sausages and Manchego cheese.
Awarded wine at wine competitions in London and Brussels.
The tradition of wine production in the Douro Valley dates back at least to Roman times. Unlike the Mediterranean climate, the Douro Valley is a hot and dry enclave, especially suitable for the cultivation of vines, olive trees and almonds. The landscapes are so diverse that you can only see vineyards and terraces at times, as is the case in the heart of the Douro, all the way to the Tua River, while elsewhere there is rocky vegetation and barren horizons fill the landscape, as is the case with Douro Superior, and the upper parts of the Douro River.
