Roccato
Mouth-filling, velvety wine with a deep ruby color with garnet reflections. Rich in aromas of blackberry, plum and licorice, with subtle notes of cocoa, vanilla and coffee. Warm and balanced on the palate with a consistent tannin structure that supports the wine's long finish. Roccato has a good minerality and tannin structure that offers the potential for long-term aging up to 20 years. It goes well with heavy sauces, meats, game dishes and hard cheeses.

Rocca delle Macie created the first Roccato bottle in 1988. So far, this wine is based in equal parts on the Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties, which are carefully selected, vinified separately, and then separately matured in French oak barrels for a period of 9 to 14 months. After this time, the grapes are combined and matured together for 3 months in an oak barrel, and then for a year in a bottle. Roccato represents the meeting of the most typical Sangiovese roots with the modernity symbolized by Cabernet.
