The flagship wine of Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons or Baron Edmond - named after the late Baron Edmond de Rothschild, Benjamin's father, is a blend: Cabernet Franc 52%; Merlot 32% and Cabernet Sauvignon 16%.

In the mouth, it seduces with the richness of flavors slowly developing on the palate. Silky tannins harmonize perfectly with the acidity, showing the unique balance of this elegantly structured wine.

Manual harvest. Fermentation in wooden vats and stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins for 16 to 20 days. The wine is aged for 20 months in 225 liter French oak barrels - 100% new barrels.

In 1997, under the leadership of Dr. Anton Rupert and Baron Edmond de Rothschild founded Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons in South Africa. Both later resigned from the management of the company and handed it over to their sons: Anthonij Rupert and Baron Benjamin de Rothschild. Since the death of Anthonij Rupert in 2001, the vineyard has been managed by his older brother Johann Rupert and sister Hannela Rupert-Koegelenberg.

The wine comes from the Fredericksburg - Western Cape region.
