Petit Verdot Legacy comes from two unique vineyards. The first local lot is located in the Ayalon Valley, on chalky soil which is characterized by slow maturing of grapes. This vineyard has a cool climate due to its location in the valley. Bushes are exposed to a constant flow of cool air. The grapevines in the second lot of the vineyard in the Judean Hills have been grafted onto a rootstock which causes growth and also has a favorable microclimate. In both locations, the vineyard has a fine-tuned canopy mechanism to manipulate light transmission. The Petit Verdot grapes from each plot are harvested at night and arrive at the vineyard in the early morning. After fermentation, the wine is placed in French oak barrels, where it is matured for 18 months.

The vineyard was founded in 1870 by Abraham Teperberg and his son Zeev Zaid Teperberg. Managed by Moti Teperberg, Teperberg is now one of Israel's leading wineries, producing over 100 varieties of wine and grape juice. The company sells over four million bottles annually, locally and worldwide. Teperberg is mentioned as one of the most famous Israeli vineyards.
