In the Inspire Famitage, Dabouki comes in blend with Sauvignon Blanc and Gewurztraminer. Dabouki is the base in this wine, which is why we can find all the aforementioned features in it, Sauvignon Blanc adds freshness, and Gewurztraminer adds its characteristic notes to the bouquet. Everything comes from the renowned Teperberg vineyard, the oldest family producer in Israel.
Dabouki is an ancient strain cultivated, inter alia, in Israel. It is even believed that it may be the oldest strain grown in the region. Moreover, there are voices that Jesus did in fact know the wine made from this grape.
The strain is most often used in the production of everyday wines and as a base for the local distillate known as Arak. However, it can produce interesting results if you give it more attention. It repays with wines that tell an interesting story about their terroir, full of aromas of ripe fruit (melon), flowers, varied with distinct mineral notes.
The vineyard was founded in 1870 by Abraham Teperberg and his son Zeev Zaid Teperberg. Managed by Moti Teperberg, Teperberg is now one of Israel's leading wineries, producing over 100 varieties of wine and grape juice. The company sells over four million bottles annually, locally and worldwide. Teperberg is mentioned as one of the most famous Israeli vineyards.
