Pommard Premier Cru
Pommard is made from hand-picked and selected Pinot Noir grapes, which grew on chalky and clay soils stained red with iron oxide. This contributes to the intense, dark ruby color of the wine, as well as its solid character and tannic structure. In the bouquet you can feel the aroma of red fruit combined with oak notes, while in the mouth the delicate taste of venom and fresh herbs. It is a wine that ages perfectly. Recommended for dishes of red meat in sauce, venison and aromatic cheeses.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Maturation: 10 to 12 months in French oak (up to 30% of new barrels).
Fruity aromas on the nose combined with notes of leather and musk and a balanced oak accent. It is a robust and expressive wine with a tannin structure present.
It has a very good aging potential - about 10 years.
Recommended for stewed meats, stews, venison, matured and hard cheeses.
The chalky loam soil stained red by iron oxide gives Pommards color, firmness and a delicate aroma. As Victor Hugo wrote, "Pommard wines have flavor, inspiration and sometimes even genius."
