Pinot Grigio is a white grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. It comes from France and is known there as Pinot gris. It was born through a mutation of the Pinot Noir strain. In Italy, where the name Pinot Grigio is adopted - it produces white, dry wines with well-balanced acidity with a delicate and pleasant taste.
