The Tommasi company was founded in 1902. Initially it functioned as Grandfather Giacomo's small wine farm, but over the years it has grown into the largest family estate in Valpolicella Classico, run by the fourth generation of the family. It currently covers 195 hectares of vineyards, including 105 hectares in Valpolicella Classico and 15 hectares in Lugana DOC. Tommasi is located in Pedemonte, in the north-west of Verona, in the heart of the historical region "Classico", which produces the best quality wines. This Italian wine is made of the passion that accompanies the production of Amarone from Veneto. "Graticcio" is the local name for the traditional bamboo racks on which the harvested grapes are stacked and dried in the open air, just before vinification. After fermentation, the wine is matured in oak barrels.
