Rimapere is the result of a collaboration between the families of Baron Benjamin de Rothschild and Peabody, the latter owning the Craggy Range Winery in New Zealand. Rimapere in Maori means five arrows and refers closely to the symbol of the Rothschild family. In this case, the five arrows symbolize five brothers - the five sons of Mayer Amschel Rothschild, who created the foundations of this dynasty. The vineyard where this wine is made is located on the prestigious Rapaura Road in the south of Marlborough and the Wairau Valley. This region produces the best wines in the country and is the birthplace of one of the best Sauvignon Blanc wines in the world and certainly one of the most refined and expressive.
The temperate climate of this region, cool nights alternating with sunny days, make the grapes mature slowly and slowly, thanks to which they have high acidity. Numerous watercourses in the vicinity testify to the presence of deep layers of stones that support the natural drainage of the vines. On such a "terroir" worthy of the best Bordeaux wines, the Sauvignon Blanc takes on all its rich aromas, a subtle bouquet of grapefruit and passion fruit, high minerality.
