The color of the wine is deep cherry red. It represents the essence of the terrain it comes from, as well as the power and elegance of its nose and palate. In the nose, the wine exhibits intense and complex aromas of ripe black fruit, balsamic vinegar, with notes of cocoa and roasted spice. The wine is smooth and balanced with ripe, well-developed tannins and a round mouth end.

Dominio de la Abadesa Reserva was created exclusively from grapes selected from the oldest vines growing in clay areas at an altitude of 900 meters. These growing conditions create elegant wines with a beautiful structure. Due to the height, vineyards experience daytime variations between day and night, which allows the grapes to mature slowly, evenly, contributing to their high concentration of both color and tannin.
The 2011 vintage was classified as "excellent" with varying spring weather and good fall conditions, allowing the harvest to unfold as each vineyard matured to perfection. This vintage is full of color and balanced alcohol, acidity and tannins.
The wine was aged for 24 months in French and American oak barrels, then it was aged in the bottle for another year.
During this process, the wine is stored under carefully monitored conditions, with low light and controlled humidity. Halfway through the aging process, the wine is broken down and returned to the barrel.
