100% Barbera from the San Michele vineyard, where the soils are dominated by limestone clay. Up to the 2007 vintage, these wines were made from 90-year-old grapevines, before the vineyard was replanted in 2008. During fermentation in stainless steel, the grapes were macerated on the skins for six weeks, then the wine was transferred to 450 liter French oak barrels ( only 10% new) for 36 months.
