Hugo Casanova Vineyard was founded in 1898 when the first Casanova from Italy, from the Veneto region, arrived in Chile. Today it covers 100 hectares and our main winery is situated in the Maule Valley, where four generations of the Casanova family produce and ship wine to more than 20 countries on 3 different continents. Our wines combine the Italian tradition and style of wines with the natural advantages of the Chilean wine-growing region.
History
At the end of the 19th century, the first members of the Casanova family came from the north of Italy to Chile to continue the noble tradition of producing excellent wines. The first was Eliseo Casanova, who in 1898 acquired the properties "Batuco" and "Valle Hermoso" in Itata, where his dream began to come true. Then his son Aldo, encouraged by the unique climate of the Maule region, ideal for viticulture, bought the 100 hectare "Purisima" farm, where he planted French varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Carménère, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Years later, Mr. Aldo's son Hugo Eliseo became the deputy of the enterprise, thus taking over the responsibility for the company from his father. In 2000, he was joined by Hugo Andrés, who together with his father developed the concept of the "Boutique Wine Bar", expanding his markets to Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Production
Today, the Hugo Casanova winery has a cellar where 2 million liters of wines are stored and an annual production of approximately 1.3 million liters in four quality levels: Premium, Gran Reserve, Reserve and Varietal Plus.
Awards
By combining tradition with the latest technology and having as a base high quality soil and friendly weather, we receive excellent wines, awarded at major global wine competitions. The most important award we have won is the International Star for Quality, awarded for: customer satisfaction, leadership, innovation and prestige, which our company received in 2006 in Paris.
